Resources and Services
The St. George Family History Center offers over 50 genealogy and
computer training class titles on a regular basis. Yes! We take training
seriously. And most of them are FREE or with a small donation to cover
training materials. Come visit us. Public welcome.
We offer individual tutoring, hands-on training with personal assistance,
self-directed training, group classes, and lectures. We can answer your
general and specific questions dealing with computers and genealogy.
We can also lead you to hundreds of online training articles, video training
lessons, and audio pod-cast lessons dealing with ?how-to-do? genealogy
and family history.
If you are just starting and need to know the basics of computers and
genealogy programs, we can help. We have 25 computer workstations
with formal and personalized instructions to help you master the needed
skills including Microsoft Office and a variety of photo editing and other
useful tools.
Need to learn Personal Ancestral File, New FamilySearch, Ancestral Quest,
RootsMagic, or Legacy? How about a comparison of the best features of
each of the programs? We can help there too. We offer regular classes for
these programs and many more.
Want to try a program to see if you like it? We have a wide variety of
genealogy programs available for you to try and learn to use including: AniMap,
GenSmarts, Family Insight, Family Atlas, Personal Historian, several photo
editors, and a wide variety of searchable databases.
We provide free use of subscription genealogy web site including Ancestry,
Footnote, Genelines, Heritage Quest, and World Vital Records (see list at left).
